Yom Berekha

I first wrote this "Daily Blessing" on the occasion of my mother-in-law's death, nearly 10 years ago.  Her passing left a HUGE hole in my life, as she was a very special lady.  In the years since then, I have returned to this particular writing when learning of the passing of one who is close to me.  Just last night, I learned of the death of the young son of a special and dear friend, and my heart is heavy.

For those of you who are suffering through this trauma, know that you are not alone.  There are many of us who would walk with you through this time, and our Father, our Creator, our Comforter is always with us.  I pray these few words of today's Yom Berekha are a blessing to you.

Blessed are You, Yahweh our Elohim, King of the universe, who comforts me in my time of sorrow and loss. You understand well the pain, for You suffered through the loss of Your Son, and grief is something You are not a stranger to. Through the presence of Your Spirit, the gentle Ruach HaKodesh, You are able to comfort, bring peace, and fill the empty holes of loss that death has left in my life. You are truly my El Rachum, my God of Compassion, my All in All!!!
