Blessed are You, Adonai our Elohim, King of the universe, who sounds a warning when I have allowed the yetzer hara, the evil, carnal, self-centered impulse within me, to gain the upper hand. The Sages teach me that this yetzer hara is rooted in selfishness and self-sovereignty, and from it springs disobedience to Your will and Your Torah. Please, Abba, help me to cultivate the yetzer hatov, the good inclination and impulse, in my life, the one that always seeks to be obedient to Your Word. Amein.
